BashBurn is the new name for the cd burning shell script Magma. It's not the best looking CD-burning application out there, but it does what you want it to do. (And if not then probably didn't want to do it anyway)
| 4BAK | BashBurn is included on the 4BAK livecd. |
| INSERT | BashBurn is included on the INSERT (Inside Security Rescue Toolkit) bootable CD. |
| Gentoo | BashBurn is in portage. Just run emerge bashburn to install. (If you want to install the latest version, you have to unmask it by running echo "app-cdr/bashburn" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords first, and then emerge it. You only have to unmask it once) |
| Mandriva | Setup your repositories at http://urpmi-addmedia.org and run urpmi bashburn to install it. |
| Zenwalk | Install BashBurn by running netpkg bashburn. |
To get the latest "unstable" files, use svn. First time you run:
svn co https://svn.inf.sgsp.edu.pl/svn/bashburn
to download all files. After that when you want to update it, just
cd into the directory and run:
svn update
to update to the latest version.
(For more info about svn, check out http://svnbook.red-bean.com/en/1.1/index.html)
If you don't want to use svn, get the daily snapshot from http://teodor.kn-atena.org/bashburn
Installing BashBurn is very simple.
1. First, download the latest version. Usually the development
versions are pretty stable and should not cause any problems for you,
but if you want to be on the safe side, get the latest stable version.
2. Second, unpack the downloaded tar.gz file with the command 'tar zxvf BashBurn-xyz.tar.gz' (Where xyz is the version number). This will create a directory and unpack all files into that. Enter that directory and as root, run the install script as './Install.sh' or 'sh Install.sh'. This will start the installation. Just answer the questions asked and in a matter of seconds the installation is done.
3. You can now delete the folder you unpacked BashBurn in, and as your
regular user just type 'bashburn'
in a console and the program will start. Remember to first configure
BashBurn to suit your system,
and then its
ready to burn away!
If you have problems or things just don't work right, don't be afraid
to send me
an
and ask/complain about it.

You might not need all of these programs for BashBurn to do what you want it to do, however I still suggest that if you are unsure you install all of them. If possible, install a version provided to you by your distribution.
